    If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.

  • Patients can be referred by GPs, other specialty Consultants, insurers or Embassies.

    Alternatively, patients can self-refer.

  • Professor Hakim treats patients from around the world. A bespoke investigative and treatment plan can be made to suit specific patient requirements.

    Additionally, Professor Hakim is available to see and treat patients in their home country upon request.

  • Professor Hakim will only transplant kidneys that have gone through rigorous vetting by an independent ethics committee in line with the Istanbul Declaration against organ trafficking.

  • Patients will only be considered for bariatric surgery if they meet the following criteria:

    • > 18 years old.

    • BMI > 35 with a co-morbidity and failed to lose weight after 6 months on a supervised programme.

    • BMI > 40 and failed to lose weight after 6 months on a supervised programme.

    • BMI >50.

    Additionally, all of Professor Hakim's bariatric patients will be referred to a nutritionist for optimised results.
